In a past life, I did several theatrical shows as a designer for costume and set. These experiances have informed my practices as a scenic artist and prop maker.

Audience would sit on the outside of the festival fencing, actors cannot leave the space. | Traverse set with 2 platforms either end. The set is bare apart from scenic props of waste and broken furniture / useless gates. | End on set idea where play is set within a broken glass-like structure. The broken elements would stretch across the audience |
Traverse set, with audience either side. The set goes from the main entrance to the rooms back exit in a runway style. Set is bare apart from toxic waste barrels, construction street lamps and a gate with no fencing either side. Perspective is if standing at the exit looking towards entrance. | Traverse set, with audience either side. The set goes from the main entrance to the rooms back exit in a runway style. Storyboard of how set would look in the opening acts. The actors and cast would come in via the main entrance. Opposite is another set of doors, in front of which are some locked and closed wire gates. These gates are closed for the play's duration. | ||
How the set would look from different perspectives as play progresses | How the set would look from different perspectives as play progresses. Theatre@41 in York has an open gantry which is would be used in these 2 scenes. In scene 17 it shows how Ollie is trapped in POMONA's underground system. in scene 18 it shows Charlie's afterlife moments. | Final moments of the play when everyone has a rubik cube. The first actor to solve their rubik will unlock and leave via the wire gate on the opposite side of the venue. Once Ollie leave, audience will leave via the same gates. |
